Partners Home Care welcomes new president

060801resseig.jpg (10574 bytes)Marcia P. Reissig, RN, MS, CHCE,  recently was appointed president of Partners Home Care, which was created last October with the merger of the MGH/Spaulding Home Health Agency, Newton-Wellesley Home Health Services and the Affiliated Community Visiting Nurses Association.

Before her move to Partners, Reissig served as the president and CEO of home health organizations within the Catholic Health System in New York. She has more than 20 years of home health care experience in both patient care and administrative roles.

According to Reissig, home care is increasingly recognized as a high- quality, cost-efficient alternative to hospital admission or extended lengths of stay, and the home setting is often the preferred location of care for patients and their families.

"The true power of home care is best unleashed when it is a core component of an integrated health care delivery system," says Reissig, (above) whose goals are to build on Partners Home Care's existing foundation, tailor its services to better meet the needs of the Partners system as well as the community, improve the accessibility of such services and expand geographic coverage.
