Their minds are on medicine, but their hearts belong to baseball

A group of 19 physicians and three staff members from the MGH, BWH and Partners HealthCare had a chance to fulfill their childhood dreams and support a good cause when they participated in a softball game at Fenway Park June 1. Partners was one of 12 teams to play in the third annual "Field of Dreams" tournament to benefit ABCD (Action for Boston Community Development), Boston's oldest anti-poverty agency. Team co-captains Patrick O'Gara, MD, director of Clinical Cardiology at BWH, and Dennis Ausiello, MD, MGH physician-in-chief, led the Partners team to victory over the law firm Palmer and Dodge.

Established in 1962, ABCD serves more than 100,000 low-income Boston residents every year.
