  • MGH and Partners institute new emergency planning system
    For many urban hospitals and emergency response agencies, the issue of disaster preparedness has taken on heightened significance since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. While the shock and anxiety of that tragedy have subsided somewhat, many health care organizations have been re-evaluating their emergency response plans.
  • For men only: cancer prevention, treatment tips
    Researchers and clinicians don't know what causes many types of cancer, but they do know certain cancers pose a particular threat to men. Many employees, patients and visitors attended the Men's Cancers Fair, held in the Main Lobby June 14, to learn about early detection, prevention and treatment of the most common cancers affecting men today.
  • Picking up the PACE: Questions about project answered
    With a multi-million dollar investment over the next three years, the PACE (Patient Administrative Cycle Enhancements) project represents the largest capital project for this fiscal year. Jointly sponsored by the MGH and the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, the project is meant to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the registration, referral and hospital outpatient billing processes.

  • Everyone loves a parade
    Colorful floats, marching bands and dancing clowns all made their way down the streets of Charlestown June 16 for the annual Bunker Hill Day parade.
  • Partners Bowling League has a ball
    The Partners HealthCare Candlepin Bowling League recently concluded its season with a special awards banquet June 1 at the Philips Old Colony House in Boston.
