Keeping kids safe this summer

More than 200 children and their families participated in the MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center's annual "Safety on Wheels, Safety in Summer" family safety fair and bike rodeo June 19. A safety check station for bikes and helmets was set up to ensure that each child was riding the proper type of bike and wearing the appropriate size helmet. The children also participated in a raffle for a chance to win one of four bikes.

In addition, families were able to learn about home, water, fire, sun and car safety. Fun activities were featured such as entertainment from George the DJ, visits from Geoffrey the Giraffe and McGruff the Crime Dog, as well as face painting, bike decorating and ice cream treats.
