In General Lauren Elizabeth Bernstein, MD, a research fellow in the MGH Program in Nutritional Metabolism, was awarded the Eli Lilly Endocrine Scholars Award from the Endocrine Society. Bernstein was honored for her project studying the role of inflammation in the metabolic syndrome. Benedict Cosimi, MD, chief of MGH Transplant Surgery, was elected president-elect of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. Francis L. Delmonico, MD, director of MGH Renal Transplantation and medical director of the New England Organ Bank, was elected vice president/president-elect of the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) board of directors. UNOS manages the nation's organ transplant system under contract with the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Helen T. Doherty, RD, director of MGH Nutrition and Food Services, was inducted into the College of Diplomates of the National Education Foundation of the National Restaurant Association. Doherty is one of three people nationwide to receive this honor, which recognizes leaders in the restaurant and food service industry. Robert A. Novelline, MD, of MGH Radiology, was awarded the Association of Program Directors in Radiology Achievement Award at the 52nd annual meeting of the Association of University Radiologists (AUR) in San Francisco. Novelline was honored for his achievements, his dedication to teaching and his development of innovative and creative teaching approaches. The Avery D. Weisman, MD, Psychiatric Consultation
