FYI poster addresses patient safety

To gear up for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) survey this fall, the next in a series of FYI posters was distributed throughout the hospital this week.

One of the hospital's ways of communicating to MGHers the importance of patient safety, the poster's message is that it is the responsibility of every employee to work with patients to create a safe environment while providing the highest quality of care.

In addition to the posters, FYI papers covering a myriad of important hospital-related issues will be distributed throughout the summer leading up to the survey.

Recently, the MGH was notified by JCAHO that the hospital and laboratory surveys will occur from Sept. 15 through 19. The survey's daily schedule has not yet been completed by JCAHO but will be made available when received.
