Bike safety leads to summer safety

The MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center hosted its annual "Safety on Wheels, Safety in Summer" family fair and bike rodeo June 21 at the health center. Families from Chelsea and surrounding areas came to learn about home, water, fire, sun and car safety tips.

More than 170 children brought their bikes and helmets for an equipment safety check and participated in a raffle for a chance to win two girls and two boys bikes. Geoffrey the Giraffe, McGruff the Safety Dog and Polly Patches the clown entertained the crowd. The event was made complete with face painting, a hula-hoop contest and free slushies and ice cream.
