What you need to know about pain

The MGH Cares About Pain Relief program distributed the first guide for patients and families about pain June 27. The brochure, entitled What you need to know about pain, is available in the Blum Patient and Family Learning Center, the Cancer Resource Room and in Pre-Admission Testing. The brochure also was distributed among clinical nurse specialists and nurse managers in each patient care unit at the MGH.
In addition to the pain brochure, an institutional policy on pain is being developed and future pain champion seminars — which were offered this year to create advocates for pain management on each unit — may be planned.
