• Response to new faces varies by temperament
  A key area in the brains of people who displayed an inhibited temperament as toddlers shows a greater response to new faces than does the same area in adults who were uninhibited early in life.

• In honor of a beloved physician: Brian McGovern, MD
  After the terrible tragedy that took the life of renowned MGH cardiologist Brian McGovern, MD, on April 8, many in the MGH community and beyond have expressed interest in making contributions in his honor to the McGovern family.

• District attorney issues report on April shooting at MGH
  Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley released a final report June 26 about the investigation into the fatal double shooting that took place at the MGH April 8.

• Yawkey Center grows from top to bottom
  From the outside, construction on the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care seems well under way, but on the inside the building continues to grow six stories underground..

• Fore: The Durant Fellowship golf tournament tees off
  MGHers were in full swing June 16 at this year's annual Thomas S. Durant, MD, Golf Tournament, held at the Oyster Harbors Club in Osterville, Mass.

• GCRC awarded grant
  The General Clinical Research Center recently was awarded a competitive NIH renewal grant, which will allot $4 million per year to the institution for the next five years.
