Awarding excellence in memory of a beloved employee

An award recently was established in memory of Ricardo Diaz, the Buildings and Grounds employee who died Feb. 18 while plowing snow from the sidewalks around the hospital during a blizzard. Diaz was a respected employee who was sensitive to the needs of others.

An award of $1,000 will be given to the outstanding nominee who best represents the qualities Diaz demonstrated during his 12 years at the MGH. All MGHers who have worked at the hospital for at least two years and currently are in a general support service or a skilled trade job are eligible. The deadline for nominations is 3 pm Aug. 15.
