  • Got clean hands?
    While famous celebrities have garnered national attention by appearing in "Got milk?" advertisements, some MGHers are getting attention around the hospital in a similar way with the latest poster from the MGH Hand Hygiene Program that asks the question: "Got clean hands?"
  • MGH ranks fourth in U.S. News' best hospitals list
    In what has become an anticipated annual event, the U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Hospital's" honor roll has been published, ranking the MGH fourth in the nation. BWH also made the hospital honor roll, ranking 12th. Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore was ranked first overall, the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., ranked second and UCLA ranked third.
  • First Haddad lecture
    The first Ernest M. Haddad Lecture in Medical Ethics, "Crossing the Quality Chasm in Health Care," took place June 26 in the O'Keeffe Auditorium.
  • A celebration of educational achievement
    More than 160 supervisors, co-workers, family members and friends gathered at the MGH Workplace Education Program's eighth annual "Celebration of Achievement" ceremony held July 11.
  • An icy plunge with a purpose
    Perhaps the icy cold water was a little more fitting for polar bears, but that didn't stop the Humarock Hurricanes from taking a plunge New Year's Day to raise money for lung cancer research at the MGH.
  • Awarding excellence in memory of a beloved employee
    An award recently was established in memory of Ricardo Diaz, the Buildings and Grounds employee who died Feb. 18 while plowing snow from the sidewalks around the hospital during a blizzard. Diaz was a respected employee who was sensitive to the needs of others.
