What's Happening MGH 2000 now available
The hospital magazine, MGH 2000, which includes the hospital's 1999 annual
report, is now available. This issue focuses on MGH research and breakthroughs in areas
such as tissue engineering, as well as providing culturally sensitive care to patients.
Copies of MGH 2000 may be picked up at the information desks on the main campus,
at the health centers and at other locations throughout the hospital. For more

Research coordination course
"Management Strategies for MGH Entry-Level Coordinators" will be offered Aug. 9.
Deidre Norris, RN, of the MGH Epilepsy Service, and Sandra Kogan, of Decisions Systems
Groups at BWH, combine years of MGH research experience with time- management principles
to provide a solid foundation in research coordination at the MGH. Regis- tration is

HOPES seminars
The MGH Cancer Center HOPES (Helping Our Patients/Families through Education and Support)
program presents educational seminars for patients, families and MGHers. "Parenting
in Challenging Times: A Drop-In Support Group for Parents," facilitated by Cathleen
Poliquin, NP, MNS, of the MGH Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, will be offered July 25, noon
to 1 pm. "Mind-Body Techniques to Help You Get Through Treatment," facilitated
by Katie Dobbin-Binda, MSW, of the MGH Cancer
Center, will be offered June 26, noon to 1 pm. "Sunscreens Make Summer Sense:
Choosing and Using an Appropriate Sunscreen Lotion," facilitated by Regina Holdstock,
RPH, will be offered July 27, 3 to 4 pm. All discussions will be held in the Cancer

Schwartz Rounds
The 40th Kenneth B. Schwartz Rounds will
be held in the Walcott Conference Room July 28, noon to 1 pm. Lunch will be provided.
Discussion will begin at noon and will focus on "When Breast Cancer Strikes a Man Race, Gender and the Caregiver-patient
