  • New faces at the MGH
    Passing through the halls of the hospital, the faces of new physician trainees are a familiar sight to MGHers every July. Approximately 275 house officers completed orientation sessions during the last month, and now are acclimating to their new responsibilities as caregivers and MGH employees.
  • Expanding recruitment efforts to include more diversity
    For several years, the MGH has focused on expanding the cultural diversity of new house officers as a part of a hospitalwide effort to increase diversity. According to Winfred Williams, MD, director of the MGH Multicultural Affairs Office, departments that made diversity a priority showed considerable improvement this year.
  • MGH doctors speak at the President's Cancer Panel
    Kurt Isselbacher, MD, director of the MGH Cancer Center, and Bruce Chabner, MD, chief of Hematology/Oncology and clinical director of the MGH Cancer Center, were two of many doctors who spoke before the President's Cancer Panel, July 19.
  • Medical talent receives a musical reward
    Some of Boston's best known medical talent joined the Boston Pops July 9 as Partners HealthCare honored its physicians with a special concert. Approximately 1,000 physicians and their guests from throughout the Partners system attended the celebration at Symphony Hall.
  • MGH Cancer Center program receives grant
    The MGH Network for Patients and Families of the MGH Cancer Center recently received a $500 grant from New England Financial, a financial service company headquartered in Copley Square. The grant was awarded as part of the company's Community Action Recognition grant program.
