Annuity fairs and financial planning workshops
The Partners Benefits Office will host two tax-sheltered annuity fairs July 29, from 7:30 am to 4 pm, at CNY Building 149 in the Research Affairs Conference Room, and July 30, from 7:30 am to 4 pm, in the Wellman Conference Room. Representatives from Fidelity, TIAA-CREF and Vanguard will be available to answer questions. There also will be a financial planning workshop July 28 at noon in the O'Keeffe Auditorium and July 31 at noon, at CNY Building 149 in the seventh floor auditorium. Design and Conduct of Clinical Trials course
The Educational Unit of the Clinical Research Program (CRP), in collaboration with the MGH Cancer Center, will offer an intensive course "Design and Conduct of Clinical Trials" Mondays and Thursdays in September and October, from 5 to 6:15 pm in the Trustees Room. The course will survey the theory and practice of clinical trials, review design and conduct of clinical research and enable participants to develop effective clinical trials. The course is geared toward second-year fellows and junior faculty, and the fee is $200. Enrollment is limited, and registration is required. Health disparities seminar
The MGH Patient Care Services Diversity Steering Committee will host "Health Disparities: A Minority Nurse and Health Professions Perspective" Sept. 5, from 8 am to noon in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Join nurses, therapists and social workers from the Alaska/Native American Indian, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Black, Hispanic and Philippine Nurses Association for a minority-based perspective on health disparities. MGH/Timilty Partnership programs
The MGH/Timilty Partnership will be recruiting presenters for the 2003-2004 Science in the Classroom program July 29, from 11:30 am to 1 pm in the Main Corridor. Science in the Classroom brings MGH scientists into sixth-grade classes to present hands-on science lessons. The Partnership provides training, resources and ongoing support to the program. Lessons take place at the James P. Timilty Middle School in Roxbury. SummerWorks is a career exploration and summer employment program that offers graduating Timilty students paid part-time summer internships at the MGH.
