MGH physician
rows his boat ashore
Even though traffic was minimal during the week of the Democratic National
Convention (DNC), Robert H. Ackerman, MD, of MGH Neurology and Neuroradiology,
stuck to his
original plan and rowed his way to work July 27. Ackerman feared traffic
would be heavy and decided to commute to work in his racing shell via
the Charles River. His
45-minute water commute took him from the Cambridge Boat Club to the Union
Boat Club at the Hatch Shell on Boston's Esplanade.
"I've always dreamt of commuting to work by rowing shell, and this
gives me a good excuse to do what I've always dreamt of before,"
says Ackerman. "It's a nice way to spend the commute."
