What's Happening
August Vacation Club
The MGH Backup Childcare Center still has space available for the August
Vacation Club Aug. 23 to 27 and Aug. 30 to Sept. 3, from 7:30 am to 6
pm. The cost is $275 per child for five days or $60 per child per day.
Activities and trips planned include a day at the beach, Plaster Fun Time
and a boat trip to George's Island. For more information or to make reservations,

Senior HealthWISE seminars
MGH Senior HealthWISE will sponsor "Sadness and Loss: How Do We Deal
With It?" Aug. 9, from 4 to 5 pm in the Walcott Conference Rooms.
Gail Leslie, RNCS, of MGH Acute Psychiatry Service, will discuss what
causes the sadness, symptoms of grief and loss and strategies for coping.
Senior HealthWISE along with the Clubs at Charles River Park will sponsor
"Keep It Simple: A Beginner's Guide to Hand Weights" Aug. 10,
from 2 to 3 pm at the Clubs
at Charles River Park. Danny Murphy, CSCS, a personal trainer, will
lead the session. Both events are for seniors 60 years and older. For

Mood and Anxiety Disorders
Institute seminar
The MGH Mood and Anxiety
Disorders Institute will sponsor "Multicultural Perspectives
on Mental Health Practice" Aug. 13, from noon to 3 pm in the Ether
Dome. This seminar will explore perceptions, presentations and treatment
approaches to mental illness across cultures. Contact hours will be awarded.

MGH Occupational Health
Services to move
MGH Occupational Health Services (OHS) will be moving Aug. 23 from its
current location on Clinics 3 to 100 Charles River Plaza, fourth floor.
The OHS provides medical services for all MGH employees with conditions
resulting from exposure, injury or illness that occur because of work
environment and/or job duties. For more information, call (617) 726-2217.
Children's Quarters
at CNY
The Children's Quarters at CNY is currently enrolling for the following
classes: transitional 2-year-old class, preschool class, pre-k and kindergarten

Clifford Stewart Memorial
Scholarship
The application deadline for the Clifford Stewart Memorial Scholarship
has been extended to Aug. 6. Clifford Stewart was a Walsh Brothers construction
manager who worked regularly at the MGH for many years and died unexpectedly
in 2000. Applications and information regarding the scholarship are available
at the White Information Desk, Buildings and Grounds and the Real Estate
and Planning Office, West End House, second floor. For more information,
