What's Happening

Orthopedic exhibit
The MGH will be hosting a traveling exhibit called "The Legacy of Heroes," which recognizes the important role that orthopaedic surgeons and orthopaedic surgery played during World War II. Developed by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the exhibit will be displayed in the WACC Lobby from Aug. 4 to 14.

SummerWorks showcase
The MGH Timilty Partnership will hold its annual SummerWorks showcase for interns in the Main Corridor, Aug. 7 from 11:30 am to 1 pm. SummerWorks is a career exploration and summer employment program that offers graduating Timilty students paid part-time summer internships at the MGH. At the SummerWorks showcase, interns will present the skills, experience and lessons they learned throughout the seven-week program. For more information, call (617) 724-6424.

Senior HealthWISE seminar
The MGH Senior HealthWISE education seminar program will offer "Safety in a Changing World" Aug. 11, from 4 to 5 pm in the East Garden Dining Room. John Driscoll of MGH Police and Security, will be the speaker. For more information, call (617) 724-6756.

Quit smoking program
The MGH Quit Smoking Service will offer a smoking cessation program beginning Aug. 19 at 5:30 pm, and will meet every Tuesday for seven weeks. Topics include information about nicotine replacement, preparing to quit, coping with stress without cigarettes and preventing weight gain and relapse. A telephone support line is available. MGH/Partners bowling league
The MGH/Partners bowling league is entering its 55th season and looking for new members. The candlepin league meets Thursday evenings starting Sept. 4 at 6 pm at Ryan's Family Center.
