"FYI" campaign returns, features customer service poster

The MGH is bringing back its "FYI" campaign to communicate to employees080301FYI.jpg (25463 bytes) important information within the hospital community. The FYI campaign proved to be so successful in helping MGH employees prepare for the Joint Commission on Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) survey last fall that the hospital's JCAHO steering committee plans to use this program again to highlight important hospital activities, programs and policies.

The campaign resumes this week with the distribution of FYI posters featuring an important aspect of providing excellent service at the hospital: helping patients and visitors. The poster is meant to encourage all employees, regardless of their role or location within the hospital, to assist patients and visitors when needed. The poster (right) features a picture of MGHers who are participants in the "May I Help You?" program, a hospitalwide customer service effort.

"The FYI campaign has really helped us to reinforce key messages, such as patient confidentiality, disaster planning and continuous staff improvement initiatives," says Maryanne Spicer, director of MGH Corporate Compliance and chair of the JCAHO steering committee at the MGH. "We hope to continue the effort to help keep employees informed and educated about their individual roles in providing the best care for our patients."
