Walking into the Fruit Street Parking Garage, visitors can expect to find ringing phones and piles of paperwork. But dozens of Barbies? Thanks to the creativity of MGH Parking Office employee Carol Stevenson, patients, staff and visitors can marvel at a colorful, ever-changing display of the popular dolls.

Stevenson's handiwork has inspired a following throughout the hospital. "People get a kick out of it," Stevenson says. "They'll come down here just to see the newest display and to ask me what the next one will be. It makes me feel good to brighten the day of someone who may have had a difficult experience as a patient or loved one. I'm just putting together something small to make what I hope could be a big difference for someone who needs a smile."
