• JCAHO survey dates are official
  The MGH recently received an official announcement that a team of surveyors from the Joint Commission on Accreditation Organizations (JCAHO) will conduct a hospitalwide survey Sept. 18 to 21 to randomly survey multiple areas of the hospital.

• A day of easy breathing
  More than 240 people – patients, families and MGH staff – celebrated life-saving ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) therapy at the tenth annual ECMO picnic Aug. 5 at Curry College in Milton.

• MGH and MGPO announce new structure for clinical performance improvement
  This fall, the MGH and the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO) will launch a management initiative designed to increase the efficiency of the patient care process, optimize the hospital's inpatient capacity and improve the quality of patient care.

  The MGH Summer Internship Program, now in its second year, recruits college students from around the globe to learn about one of many departments in the hospital.

• FYI posters address patient confidentiality
  Patient confidentiality is the subject of the most recent FYI poster that is being distributed in the hospital this week.

• Seminars help seniors stay healthy
  Safety precautions to prevent falls and improve balance was the topic of a recent seminar at the MGH for a group of 30 senior citizens from area apartment buildings.
