United Way coming this way

The 2004 MGH United Way campaign will officially begin Oct. 18, with the distribution of pledge cards and a kick-off party for all MGHers. Last year, the MGH raised approximately $250,000 for the United Way to help benefit the many services and programs funded by the organization.

Beginning this fall, MGHers will see posters, fliers, information tables and a dedicated web site designed to increase awareness about the campaign.

An important aspect of the United Way campaign is that a percentage of the money raised beyond the projected goal goes directly back to the hospital in the form of a donation to the MGH Social Services Department. Money from this donation helps to provide essential services to MGH patients and their families.
