Help wanted: blood donors needed

The annual blood donor challenge between the "Boston Red Cells" — MGH, Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Shriners and Spaulding — and the "Green Monsters" — BWH and Dana-Farber — is well underway. With one week of the challenge remaining, the Green Monsters have taken the lead with 137 donations and the Boston Red Cells trail with 99 donations.

All employee donors will receive a special "Challenge" T-shirt and the following special treats will be offered next week. A pancake breakfast will be held Sept. 8 from 8:30 to 11:30 am, and a dessert buffet will be offered Sept. 9. Free movie pass drawings will be held Sept. 10 and 11. A drawing for two free lawn seats to the Tweeter Center will take place Sept. 12, the last day of the challenge.
