A sincere thanks

A grateful patient sent her thanks for the kindness she received during a visit to the MGH Emergency Department.

To whom it may concern,

On July 20, with constant chest pains and numbness in my arm, I was admitted to the Emergency Department at Mass General.

Being a senior citizen, I was very frightened, and I could not control my constant tears until I was soothed by the gentleness and kindness of your special nurse, Helen Warwick, RN. Helen Warwick greatly helped me during this difficult and painful time, and you should be aware of the soothing and wonderful comfort she obviously brings to all her patients in the hospital.

I was later brought into another testing area, but I did not ask my nurse her name. Not only was she an efficient nurse, but — as an IV was needed — amazingly I never felt the needle. As busy as she was, her discharge instructions were firm, explicit and showed the utmost concern for my good health and complete understanding.

Though I do not hope to spend more time at Mass General, with these two nurses by my side, their expertise and kindness did help to hasten my better health. Please extend my appreciation to both these nurses.

Sincerely,
Joan Seltzer
