MGH
takes lead in Employee Blood Drive Challenge With the MGH/BWH Employee Blood Drive Challenge approaching its third and final week, the MGH has taken the lead in the contest. To date, 136 MGHers have donated blood 1.36 percent of the MGH employee population while BWH has logged 72 employee donations, .85 percent of all BWH employees. The MGH Blood Donor Center thanked its donors with a pizza party Sept. 4 and 5, offering Papa Gino's and Pizzeria Uno pizza to everyone who stopped by to give the gift of life. MGHers are encouraged to make an appointment to donate in the coming days a time when many would-be donors will be on vacation, and the Massachusetts blood supply will be at a critically low level. The challenge will run through Sept. 14. All employee donors who give blood during the contest will receive an Employee Blood Drive Challenge T-shirt, and the winning donor center also will be presented with a plaque at the conclusion of the challenge. For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate, call (617) 726-8177.
