  • MGHers support heart research by walking the walk
    Heart disease is the leading cause of death for Americans often times the only warning sign is an actual heart attack. Fortunately, a great deal of cardiovascular research is investigating the causes and prevention of heart disease. Much of this research takes place at the MGH with support from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Something old, something new: Yawkey Center update
    On Oct. 12, the first phase of moving for the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care will begin, welcoming employees and patients to the new center. With anticipation and excitement at the hospital and the Yawkey Center, hundreds of employees are working diligently to ensure that the transition will go as smoothly as possible. Below are a few guidelines for what will change and what will stay the same at the new center.
  • RSERT: Responding to radiation emergencies
    Since Sept. 11, many MGHers have become more aware of the hospital's efforts to enhance various disaster response programs. One of the most well known components of the response efforts is the Hazmat Decontamination Team. What many MGHers might not know is that the hospital also has a specialized team responsible for handling radiation-specific emergencies the Radiation Safety Emergency Response Team (RSERT).
  • MGH Employee Assistance Program makes a move
    The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will be moving Sept. 15 to a new location at 175 Cambridge St., Charles River Plaza, suite 320, from their current location at the Vincent Burnham Kennedy Building. The new location is only steps away from the main campus and will allow the EAP to continue to provide its vital, responsive and high-quality services to all employees.
  • Nominations for the Nathaniel Bowditch Prize
    Nominations now are being accepted for the 2005 Nathaniel Bowditch Prize. The $5,000 award will be presented to an MGH employee clinician or nonclinician who has made a significant contribution to improving the quality of care at the hospital while reducing the cost of such care.
