In
General William H. Harris, MD, of MGH Orthopaedics, will receive the first Maurice E. Mueller prize for excellence in orthopaedic surgery this week in Winterthur, Switzerland. The award is given by the Maurice E. Mueller Foundation, based on lifetime contributions to the field of orthopaedic surgery. William F. Crowley, MD, director of the MGH Reproductive Endocrinology Unit, has been selected to receive the Monsanto Clinical Investigator Lecture Award for the year 2000. The award is the highest honor given to a clinical investigator from the Endocrine Society. He will receive the award at the Societys annual meeting in June 2000. Roger Hajjar, MD, of the MGH Cardiovascular Research Center, recently received the Doris Duke Clinical Scientist award from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. Duke, the late tobacco heiress, was interested in the training and education of young people to help relieve human suffering from disease. The Clinical Scientist Award program was established to meet this goal. |
