JCAHO tip of the week

Surveyors from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) will be visiting the MGH Sept. 15 through 19. In preparation for the survey, Hotline is featuring a tip of the week. For more information, visit the MGH JCAHO website at http://is.partners.org/jcaho/

The following are tips to keep in mind for the JCAHO survey

•  Always respect patient confidentiality.
• To report an emergency, call (617) 726-3333.
• Always wear your ID badge.
• Comply with safety and security procedures.
• Properly store and secure medications.
• Review your role in a disaster.
• Respect diversity in culture, morals, values and beliefs.
• Relax, be confident and take your time in responding to questions. You know the answers.
