  • Cranes, construction on Cambridge Street
    With the recent demolition of several buildings on Cambridge Street, passersby heading toward the hospital from the Charles St./MGH MBTA station now can clearly see the construction of the new Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care.
  • Keep the motor running: New van offers patients a ride
    Thanks to a contribution from Thomas Flatley, president of the Flatley Company, a new specially equipped van has been purchased by the MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center to enhance the health center's community outreach program, primarily devoted to seniors in the community.
  • Field of dreams: A young patient has time of his life
    A MassGeneral Hospital for Children patient got a rare treat Aug. 23 when he became an honorary official team member of the Super Bowl champs The New England Patriots for one night. Joe Meade, 12, has been treated at the hospital for an illness called chronic granulomotous disease, which results in a weakened immune system causing extended hospital stays.
  • Introducing the MGPO's new medical director
    The Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO) welcomed its new medical director, Gregg Meyer, MD, Aug. 26. Meyer succeeds James Richter, MD, who was the first medical director for the MGPO.
  • Making a difference the MGH way
    MGHers make a difference every day in the work they do. A select group recently was recognized at a special reception Sept. 5 to celebrate their achievements through the MGH Making a Difference grant program. The program offers an award of up to $5,000 to support employees' ideas for improving patient care service.
