  MGH Pediatrics, long a cornerstone of care for families throughout the country, has undergone a name change. The MGH Board of Trustees approved its new identity – MassGeneral Hospital for Children – Sept. 17.

• MGPO names Slavin to top position
  The Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO) named Peter L. Slavin, MD, to the position of CEO and chair, Sept. 17. Slavin will succeed W. Gerald Austen, MD, who is retiring from the position, and will start in November.

• Blood pressure: less is more
  The Massachusetts General Physicians Organization held a blood pressure screening drive to promote general awareness of healthy blood pressure.

• MGH and Partners advocate for teaching hospitals at nation's capital
  A group of MGH and Partners delegates descended on the nation’s capital Sept. 14 for the second annual Teaching Hospital Advocacy Day.

• MGHers support BBA relief
  MGHers showed tremendous support for the American Hospital Association’s "Hospital Caregivers for BBA Relief" campaign by sending more than 2,300 postcards to the nation’s capital last week.

• "Excuse me, do you work here?"
  MGHers are reminded to wear their ID badges while on duty at the hospital. Not only is wearing ID badges a hospital policy, but it is important for a variety of reasons.

• Nutralert helps diners make healthy choices
  The department of Nutrition and Food Services recently launched Nutralert, a program designed to keep patrons in the Eat Street Café informed about the nutritional value of what they are eating.

• Fashion show benefits MGH Brain Tumor Center
  A gift of $9,000 was given to the MGH Brain Tumor Center from customer sales at Bloomingdale's annual fall fashion show and luncheon Sept. 9 at the store's Chestnut Hill location.
