  • Partners Town Meeting questions
    The following questions were addressed by Samuel O. Thier, MD, president and CEO of Partners, and James J. Mongan, MD, president of the MGH, at the Partners Town Meeting Sept. 23.
  • MGH success results in bonus for employees
    Good news for MGH employees was announced this week. Because the hospital demonstrated a successful financial performance in fiscal year 2002, all active employees will receive a bonus equal to 1 percent of their FY '02 regular earnings.
  • Temporary changes announced in MGH administration
    After 14 years at the MGH, Kathleen E. Walsh, senior vice president for MGH Medicine and Cancer Care Services, will be leaving the hospital at the end of this month to join Novartis Pharma AG. She will serve as chief operating officer of the Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research, the company's new research facility located in Cambridge. With her departure, some members of the MGH senior leadership team will expand their responsibilities to cover Walsh's areas of responsibility until a successor is named.
  • North End health center employees participate in new certificate program
    Employees at the North End Community Health Center (NECHC)
    recently participated in a one-year certificate program, which was developed by the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and Suffolk University. The program was designed to address many issues facing health center employees, including the enhancement of skills for qualified not-for-profit health center managers.
  • MGHers with heart
    MGH employees and patients showed that they have heart as they joined hundreds of Bostonians Sept. 14 to participate in the American Heart Association's annual walkathon.
