  • MGH study shows immune system can control HIV
    An MGH research team has shown that the majority of HIV-infected individuals who begin antiviral therapy during the earliest stages of their infection eventually can stop taking drugs and keep the virus under control with their immune systems alone.
  • JCAHO survey team completes MGH visit
    Members of the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) survey team completed a week-long visit to the MGH on Sept. 22. Like many hospitals around the country, the MGH invites the JCAHO to review all hospital programs and facilities because many third-party payors such as Medicare require JCAHO accreditation for participation.
  • Wage and salary program announced
    The MGH this week announced a fiscal year 2001 wage and salary program that includes a performance-based increase, ranging from 0 to 6 percent. This year's General Hospital program is funded at 4 percent, an increase over last year's 3 percent.
