  • New center opens to help women with breast cancer
    According to the American Cancer Society, more than 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Because early detection is a key factor in fighting this ominous statistic, the MGH has just established a new center focused on rapid diagnosis and treatment.
  • 10 years and growing: MGH Vincent IVF celebrates 10th birthday
    MGH Vincent Reproductive Medicine and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) recently held its first family reunion to celebrate its 10th birthday. More than 500 people parents, grandparents and children attended the event, which was held under the Bulfinch tent Sept. 29.
  • A son's dedication turns a negative into a positive
    Andrew Leavitt isn't your typical 13-year-old boy. With the same responsibilities as most teenagers school, homework and extracurricular activities he also is a dedicated fundraiser who has raised more than $8,000 for breast cancer research.
  • The importance of MGH case managers
    The important role of the case manager in patient care was celebrated at the MGH during National Case Management Week Oct. 7 to 15 with a series of events.
  • Stoeckle Center celebration
    Patients, friends and physicians gathered together in the Wellman Conference Rooms Oct. 9 to show their support of the John D. Stoeckle Center for Primary Care at the center's first annual reception. Welcoming remarks were given by John D. Goodson, MD; Michael J. Barry, MD; and John D. Stoeckle, MD, as they described the strong commitment of the Stoeckle Center to building and maintaining relationships between patients and their doctors and strengthening the ties among health care providers.
  • Antique treasures benefit MGH patients
    Every year, antique enthusiasts travel from around the country to attend one of the premier antique shows held annually in Boston the Ellis Antique Show. As participants peruse and purchase the finest in American and European furniture, ceramics, paintings, books, jewelry and other treasures, they also will have the opportunity to support the world-class pediatric care at MassGeneral Hospital for Children.
  • MGHers give and receive
    While MGH employees and staff are asked to give to the United Way this month, they also have an opportunity to receive. More than 100 raffle prizes will be given away during the course of the campaign.
