Flu
season has arrived, and the MGH Senior HealthWISE Program coordinated
five free community flu clinics Oct. 28 to 30 and Nov. 5 and 7 to help
local seniors stay healthy this flu season.
With assistance from the MGH Department of Nursing and MGH Institute of
Health Professions student nurses, Senior HealthWISE administered approximately
200 flu vaccines. Residents of senior housing facilities Beacon House,
The Blackstone and Amy Lowell House were able to receive the vaccine in
their buildings.
Flu clinics also were held at the Hill House Fire Station on Beacon Hill
and the Boston Synagogue in the West End. These two clinics were open
to all community seniors and were offered in collaboration with Beacon
Hill Village.
