An outstanding leader

Kurt Isselbacher, MD, has been a leader at the MGH for more than 45 years. The MGH auditorium at CNY recently was named in his honor at a special celebration
following a scientific symposium that featured guest speakers Joe Goldstein, MD, Robert Weinberg, MD, Jean Wilson, MD, Rene Bernards, MD, and Dan Podolsky, MD.

Isselbacher served as chief of the MGH Gastroenterology Unit for more than 30 years before taking on leadership of the MGH Cancer Center in 1987. The clinical and cientific activities of the Cancer Center grew dramatically under his leadership, making it one of the most successful units at the MGH.
