Oh, the places you'll go

Dr. Seuss' Cat in the Hat was the theme for the fourth annual Storybook Ball fundraiser, held Oct. 25 in two large tents on the Boston Common.

More than 600 people attended the gala event, which featured live and silent auctions, dinner, dancing to the sounds of the Eric Ashley Orchestra of New York and comedic entertainment from hometown celebrities Denis Leary and Lenny Clark.

Proceeds from the event will support Mass General Hospital for Children's Pediatric Epilepsy Service and the LADDERS program, a service that treats children with a spectrum of neurocognitive problems ranging from mild learning disabilities to severe autism.

In total, the Storybook Ball raised more than $1 million.
