Filene's gives MGH bear hug

In the spirit of the holiday season, Filene's Department store — a supporter of the MGH — chose MassGeneral Hospital for Children as one of the beneficiaries of its "Make Your Wishes Come True" holiday program. The program features three exclusive Gund "wish" teddy bears, each celebrating love, hope or courage.

Through its parent company, the May Department Stores Company, Filene's will donate $1 to MassGeneral Hospital for Children for each cuddly wish bear sold. The 26-inch teddy bears now are available and cost $15.99 each with a purchase of $25 or more. In addition, a three-bear set — with smaller versions of the wish bears — will be sold as part of the promotion.
The MGH also was a benificiary of the recent Filene's Holiday Glam Jam, which offered an all-day 20 percent discount shopping pass with every $5 donation. All monies from the donations went directly to the MassGeneral Hospital for Children.
