  • Mongan bids farewell to MGH at last leadership meeting
    In his final hospital leadership meeting as president of the MGH, James J. Mongan, MD, took the attendees on a retrospective journey of the last seven years, highlighting the many accomplishments made during his tenure.
  • As a tradition continues, a legacy ends
    The MGH took a break from the everyday hustle and bustle of the inner workings of the hospital Dec. 11 when it recognized and honored 284 individuals and 84 MGH teams a total of more than 1,800 MGHers at the seventh annual Partners in Excellence Awards.
  • First Durant fellow named
    Kristian R. Olson, MD, of MGH Internal Medicine, was recognized as the first recipient of the Thomas S. Durant, MD, Fellowship in Refugee Medicine Dec. 3 at a special ceremony in the Trustees Room.
  • HMS professorship named for Thier
    A professorship at Harvard Medical School has been established as a tribute to the accomplishments of Samuel O. Thier, MD, president and CEO of Partners HealthCare. The chair, announced at a dinner held Dec. 4 to honor Thier's leadership, recognizes his many contributions in academic medicine and national health care policy.
  • MGHers honor victims of domestic violence
    MGH employees, patients and visitors gathered in the MGH Chapel Dec. 6 at the annual Service of Remembrance and Healing to honor and offer remembrance of those whose lives have been tragically affected by domestic violence in Massachusetts.
  • Top 10 things to know about PACE
    Late night talk-show host David Letterman made top 10 lists famous with his comedic
    commentary on everything from "top 10 favorite things to do in an airplane" to "top 10 least popular Christmas carols." To borrow from the comedian's well-known lists, the Patient Administrative Cycle Enhancements (PACE) project staff has come up with a list to help MGHers better understand the project.
