A celebration of excellence
Applause echoed throughout the WACC Lobby at the fifth annual Partners in Excellence Awards ceremony held at the MGH Dec. 8. Employees, representing both individuals and MGH and Partners team members, received the honor for their outstanding contributions to Partners in fiscal year '00. The MGH recipients – 241 individuals and 57 teams – comprise a total of more than 3,000 award recipients throughout the Partners network. A committee selected the recipients from a record number of submitted nominations.

Samuel O. Thier, MD, president and CEO of
Partners, congratulated the honorees, whose hard work has contributed to the success of
the Partners system. "We celebrate you and say thank you for all you have done,"
he said. Along with Thier, James J. Mongan, MD, president of the MGH, and Jeff Davis, senior vice president for Human Resources, expressed their gratitude to this year's MGH recipients. Deborah Washington, RN, director of Diversity for Patient Care Services and 1999 award recipient, was the event's keynote speaker. |
