Parrish elected to Institute of Medicine

121500parrish.jpg (20248 bytes)John Parrish, MD, chief of MGH Dermatology and director of the Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology (CIMIT), recently was elected to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academy of Sciences. Parrish also is director of MGH Wellman Laboratory of Photomedicine and director of the Harvard-MGH Cutaneous Biology Research Center.

Parrish was among 60 new members of the IOM, which is a nonprofit organization that conducts studies of policy issues related to health and medicine and works with scientific and professional societies to inform the general public about these policy issues.

New members are selected for their significant contributions to the health care and related fields. With their election, members are committed to work on committees involved with a variety of studies on health policy issues.
