• It's the most wonderful time of the year...
  'Tis the season for MGHers to be jolly, and employees have taken advantage of many opportunities to recognize a variety of religious and secular holidays with parties, decorations, caroling and gift-giving.

• Joy to the world – MGH style
  Holidays around the world were recognized Dec. 10 with the annual holiday festival in the Main Corridor.

• Having a Merry Little Christmas...
  It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas on Founders 7 Dec. 18. More than 300 brightly wrapped Christmas gifts spilled out of a corner office as MGH Case Management staff members doubled as Santa's elves, readying the presents to be given to families associated with the Women's Lunch Place--a local haven for women and children who are homeless or in financial need.

• No place like "home" for the holidays
  They may not have been "home," but the staff of the Ellison 14 Inpatient Medical Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Units did receive a delicious home-cooked meal Dec. 18. Bruce Chabner, MD, clinical director of the MGH Cancer Center, served up a special holiday surprise for the floor staff: fresh waffles.

• MGHers enjoy feast to mark the end of daily Ramadan fast
  A delicious spread of Middle Eastern dishes, informational literature detailing the traditions of Islam and Muslim culture, and an enthusiastic crowd of MGHers celebrated Iftar, a feast breaking the daily Ramadan fast, Dec. 10.

• Santa Claus comes to town: Starlight Foundation visits pediatric patients
  Santa's beard and the first hints of December snow outside were far from the only things sparkling Dec. 11. Visitors from the New England chapter of the Starlight Children's Foundation brought some holiday spirit to MassGeneral Hospital for Children patients on Ellison 17 and 18.

• Sleigh bells ringing...
  Santa Claus isn't the only one spreading cheer to boys and girls this year. Several MGHers participated in the spirit of the season by donating holiday gifts to families of the MGH HAVEN (Hospitals Helping Abuse and Violence End Now) program.
