  • MGH nurse inspired for the run of her life
    Lisa Sohl, RN, says she’s not a runner. In fact, she hates running. So it’s hard to believe that Sohl, a clinical nurse specialist on Ellison 14, is preparing to run all 26.2 miles of the Boston Marathon this month. She’s running for one of her patients, 7-year-old Katy Mahoney, who was treated at the MGH for a tumor in her right arm.
  • Health care competition may limit research support
    Research from the MGH/Partners Institute for Health Policy suggests that academic health centers (AHCs) in highly competitive markets may have less internal funding available to support scientific research than do centers in less competitive markets.
  • MGH resources for meeting ethical challenges
    In an environment like the MGH, situations can arise that present challenging ethical dilemmas ones that don't always have easy, clear-cut solutions. Several resources exist at the MGH to help staff, patients, families and students work through some of these dilemmas.
