A memorial service will be held for David Winder
an MGH employee who worked in the Orthopædics Department for 30 years
Dec. 18, 2 pm, in theO'Keeffe Auditorium. Winder died in September after a long illness.

What's Happening
Celebrating diverse holidays
The MGH community is invited to learn more about Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Ramadan
as the Patient Care Services Diversity Steering Committee hosts a celebration of diverse
holiday traditions Dec. 17, 10 am to 4 pm, throughout the first floor corridors of the
Ellison and White buildings. The event will feature live music, artwork by MGH pediatric
patients, information tables and videos. For more information, call 4-7469.
Holiday songfest
MGHers, patients and visitors are invited to participate in a holiday songfest Dec. 17,
noon to 1 pm, in the Central Lobby.
Hanukkah service
A Hanukkah service will be held Dec. 14, at 5 pm in the MGH Chapel. All are welcome. The

PeopleSoft training
PeopleSoft online requisition training courses will be offered Jan. 5 to March 30. The
classes meet Tuesdays, 8:30 am to noon, room 643, in the Founders Building. All
registrants should have working knowledge of Windows software. To register, call Rossy

Schwartz Center Rounds
All MGH caregivers are invited to the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center Rounds Dec. 18, noon to 1
pm, in the Walcott Conference Room. This month's discussion is entitled "Breakdown in
communication between patients and caregivers." Lunch will be served starting at

Cancer Center programs
The MGH Cancer Center Patient and Family Support Program will present the following
programs in the Cancer Resource Room, on Cox 1: "Lymphedema and Exercise," Dec.
15, 4:30 to 5:30 pm, and "Nutritional Side Effects of Chemotherapy," Dec. 17, 1

Basic Medical Terminology
Basic Medical Terminology will be offered to MGH and Partners-affiliated employees this
winter. Classes begin Jan. 28 and will meet Thursdays, 4:30 to 6:30 pm. The cost is $50,
which includes tuition and book fees; and tuition reimbursement is available for eligible
employees. Enrollment is limited, and tuition payment is required to guarantee a place.

Pediatrics raffle and auction
The Pediatric Service is holding two events a Beanie Baby raffle and a silent auction for a framed,
autographed photo of Bobby Orr winning the 1970 Stanley Cup to benefit
Children and HealthCare Week activities. Both the raffle and the auction take place Dec.
