Friends gala benefits the MGH Cancer Center

The sixth annual Friends of the MGH Cancer Center holiday shopping gala took place at the FAO Schwarz toy store Nov. 12. More than 500 guests enjoyed the festivities of the evening, including a silent auction that raised $20,000. In addition, Robert Parker, author of the Spenser series, Susan Meddaugh, creator of Martha the Talking Dog, and former Gov. William Weld, author of Mackerel by Moonlight were on hand for book signings.

The event raised more than $185,000, which will fund a variety of projects and programs benefiting cancer patients, their families and MGH Cancer Center staff.
