What's Happening Partners in Excellence awards ceremony
MGHers are invited to join James J. Mongan, MD, MGH
president, Samuel O. Thier, MD, president and CEO of Partners, and Jeff Davis, MGH senior
vice president for Human Resources, in congratulating individual and team recipients of
the Partners in Excellence Awards, Dec. 16, 4 pm, in the WACC Lobby. The MGH health
centers will hold similar ceremonies at the following times: MGH·Revere, Dec. 9, noon;
MGH·Chelsea, Dec. 11, 12:30 pm; and MGH·Charlestown, Dec. 17, noon. For more

IHP info session, half-price classes
Graduate info session
The MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP) will host its last graduate information
session this fall Dec. 11, 4:30 to 6:30 pm. The IHP offers degrees in Clinical
Investigation, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Nursing and Physical Therapy.
Spring courses
IHP's spring course schedule will run Jan. 11 to May 5. Full-time Partners-affiliated
employees may take their first IHP class at half price.

EAP holiday tips
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) invites all employees
to stop by its holiday table Dec. 9, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, in the Eat Street Café. EAP
staff will be distributing suggestions for managing stress around the holiday season. For

Bulfinch Toastmasters Club
Improve public speaking and leadership skills by joining the Bulfinch Toastmasters Club at
the MGH. Employees are welcome to attend any of the club's upcoming meetings, which take

School vacation program
Reservations for the MGH School Age Vacation Program will be accepted beginning Dec. 7.
The program is offered to children, ages 6 to 12, of MGH and Partners employees and takes
place during school vacation weeks, Feb. 16 to 19 and April 19 to 23. To register or for

CRP time management
The Clinical Research Program will sponsor a workshop entitled "Time Management for
Entry-Level Coordinators in Clinical Trials, Phase II/III," Dec. 14, 8 am to noon, in

Telemedicine sponsors Internet symposium
In an effort to strengthen international relationships, Partners Telemedicine is offering
an Internet symposium on the global applications of Telemedicine and needs assistance
contacting colleagues around the world. The interactive symposium, "Telemedicine: The
State of the Art," will take place Jan. 21, 10 to 11 am and 3 to 4 pm EST. Internet
access and a phone line are required for participation. There is no charge. To participate

Celebrate diversity at HMS and HSDM
The MGH community is invited to celebrate 30 years of affirmative action at Harvard
