Patricia Donahoe, MD, chief of MGH Pediatric Surgical Services, was named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in January.

The American Nephrology Nurses Association recently elected Jean Nardini, RN, nurse manager of the General Clinical Research Center and the MGH Dialysis Unit, as its president.

21299Fishman.jpg (7391 bytes)Mark C. Fishman, MD, chief of MGH Cardiology, was one of five international scientists invited to speak and teach at the 1998 Wright Science Colloquium. This biannual lecture series given by world experts to the people of Geneva, Switzerland, students and the press covers topics ranging from cell biology to astrophysics in an effort to improve public information, perception and understanding of science. The 1998 conference focused on genomics. The topic of Fishman’s lecture was "The Role of Genes in the Creation of Organs."
