Backup Child Care Center Oct. 21. Located off the Warren Lobby, the center is for children
of MGH employees who need a place to go when regular child care arrangements are
unavailable.

Shore has new president The North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) recently
appointed Alexander Movahed as president and chief executive officer of the
Partners-affiliated institution.

nurse recruitment campaign Meet Rischa Mayes, RN, of the General Surgery and
Trauma Unit. She is one of several nurses who are sharing their experiences at the MGH for
a nurse recruitment and image campaign, which was launched Oct. 27.
United
Way campaign begins Nov. 12 The 1998 MGH United Way campaign kicks off
Nov. 12 with pledge cards and campaign information being distributed through Payroll.
DeSanctis
awarded professorship Roman DeSanctis, MD, of MGH Cardiology has been
named the first incumbent of the Evelyn and James Jenks/Paul Dudley White Professorship in
Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
