  • Partners completes affiliation with Faulkner Hospital
    Partners, BWH and Faulkner Hospital announced Oct. 1 that the proposed network affiliation among the institutions has been reviewed by all necessary federal and state agencies, and the affiliation now is official.
  • MGH to be Parkinson's disease center
    The MGH is one of three institutions nationwide to be designated by the National Institutes of Health as a center for Parkinson's disease research and care.
  • Parental responsibilities limit careers of women in academic medicine
    Child care responsibilities appear to be a major reason why female medical school faculty members often advance more slowly in their careers than their male counterparts.  In a study in the Oct. 1 Annals of Internal Medicine, Phyllis Carr, MD, of the MGH Women's Health Associates, and collaborators at Boston Medical Center, report results of a survey.
  • Help for non-English-speaking patients
    To assist non-English-speaking patients in communicating with hospital staff, booklets entitled "English in the Hospital" now are available in the MGH General Store.
  • MGH, Partners cyclists support AIDS research
    Mark Ogino, MD, of the NICU, and Greg Koski, MD, director of Human Studies, Research Affairs, teamed up with others from Partners to join the more than 2,800 riders in the three-day, 300-mile Boston to New York AIDS Ride.
  • Crime prevention fair
    The hospitalwide Crime Prevention Fair, which took place Oct.1 under the Bulfinch Tent, featured booths promoting the programs and services of the Police, Security, Parking and Photography departments.
