• MGH clinicians to be deployed to support tsunami relief efforts
  Many MGH clinicians have offered to travel to Southeast Asia to help the victims of the tragic tsunami that devastated that area Dec. 26.

• Healing and hope after the tsunami
  MGH Chaplaincy and MGH Administration held a special prayer service, "Healing after the Tsunami," Jan. 10 in the O'Keeffe Auditorium, allowing employees, staff, volunteers, patients and visitors to come together to remember those who have been affected by this brutal catastrophe.

• Departments relocate to Yawkey Center in phase two
  The Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care officially opened its doors to patients and staff last October, offering the state-of-the-art care that has come to be expected from the MGH. By Jan. 18, other outpatient programs will make the move to the Yawkey Center in phase two of the relocation plans.

• MGHers rally together to help tsunami survivors
  Hasan Bazari, MD, of the MGH Department of Medicine, is one of the lucky ones. Hailing from a coastal village near the Indian Ocean, Bazari is one of many Americans who come from that part of the world hit by the recent tsunami, watching the news coverage with great sadness.

• New network of immune cells discovered
  A previously unknown network of immune cells has been discovered in the
  mammalian gastrointestinal system by researchers at the MGH Center for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.

  Many pet owners consider their pets to be a part of their families. And just like family members who can benefit from health insurance when they are sick, so can pets.

• Department of Surgery announces junior faculty award winners
  The Department of Surgery recently announced the results of the first Surgical Research Council Junior Faculty Award competition.
