MGH physician
named medical director of Red Sox
The World Series Champion Boston Red Sox team announced
Feb. 16 that Thomas J. Gill, MD, of MGH Orthopædics, has been named
medical director for the
team. In addition to his direct medical care of the players, he will coordinate
the team's medical operations, which includes hiring team physicians and
medical consultants, overseeing the team's training staff and supervising
the team's strength and conditioning and injury prevention programs. He
also will serve as co-director of Medical Research for the team, with
the goal of developing new injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.
