Eldercare discussion group
The MGH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will sponsor an eldercare discussion group April 12, from noon to 1 pm in the Trustees Conference Room. Barbara Moscowitz, LICSW, an MGH geriatric social worker, will discuss care coordination, legal, estate and medical issues, and caring for oneself while caring for an elder. History of Radiation Oncology Department
The MGH Radiation Oncology Department will sponsor the second part of a lecture series about its history from 1896 to 1950 April 12, from 5 to 6 pm in the Ether Dome. Herman D. Suit, MD, DPhil, will present. For more information, contact Julie Finn at (617) 724-1155.

Career development series
MGH Training and Workforce Development will host a series of career development workshops between April 27 and May 17 to inform employees about growing fields in health care. The first session will be held April 27 from noon to 1 pm in Clinics 1 Lower Amphitheater and will highlight the Support Service Employee Grant program, tuition reimbursement and financial aid information. Nominations for PIE awards
Online nominations for the 2005 Partners in Excellence (PIE) awards will begin April 15 at http://intranet.partners.org/pie/. Individuals or teams who consistently go beyond the call of duty in quality treatment and service, leadership and innovation, teamwork, operational efficiency or outstanding community contributions are eligible for nomination. Menopause and your health
The MGH Women's Health Coordinating Council will host "Menopause and Your Health" April 13, from 6 to 8:30 pm at MassGeneral West. Registration is $25, and scholarships are available. For more information, contact Mary Ellen Heike, RN, at (617) 724-8044 or send e-mail to mheike@partners.org.

Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Day
In recognition of Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Day, the MGH will sponsor an information table and seminar April 25. The information table will be located in the Main Corridor, from 8 am to 5 pm and will feature organ donation brochures and cards, information posters and educational material for clinicians. The seminar "Realize the Power of Giving Life" will be held at noon in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. An organ recipient, a donor family and a patient on the organ waiting list will share their experiences.
